BMW 335i / E90 (N54) bad rear wheel bearing test & sound.

After getting the ‘howling’ sound from a bad wheel bearing on my 2007 BMW 335i, I replaced both front ones thinking/guessing it was them, but the howling was still there. So this was a quick test (with car completely in the air and traction control off, of coarse) to confirm it was a bad rear wheel bearing, which you can hear the howling after I let off the throttle and push in the clutch aroun...
FINALLY got the EXO Z32 twin turbo weighed!

Bad ticking sound on a '91 Nissan 300ZX NA?
Just what i needed. Thanks for doing it quick and to the point.
Ever figure out that ticking noise?
Didn't hear a thing. 🤔
Dang boy U got 1/4 millie mizels
Dang for real? 400hp on the pump flash, that's good. My car felt kinda weak to me with that flash. I'm tellin you, try the e85 flash with e50 fuel. Holy shit it will feel like the difference between the first time you tried map 1 with JB4 vs stock.
Just lift it up and kick the wheel if it’s wobbly it’s bad
Thank you so much ! Straight to the point 🥳
That graph needs to be smoother
Wonder how it will hold up long term
Thanks a lot man!! short and simple!
Witch hose do I need to by for the loop?
Just about any rubber or silicone hose should work…. I think it was around 6mm or 8mm, if I recall correctly.
I got a welder to terminate those pipes for me for 20$ looks good and freed up space back there
Same exact problem, thanks for the idea of pulling the sensor connector, it starts right up. I’ve been pulling my fucking hair out over this shit. Did you ever find a fix for this?
Was that just bolt on's or with a tune?
Bolt-ons with just an OTS JB4 backend flash tune using MHD.
ever figure out what it is? mines plooming lots of white smoke on the passenger side exhaust but no froth in oil at all and nothing to point towards head gasket
Hey man is there a way I can get a hold of you I’m about to do one to my 94z
Yeah, sure. If email, it’s just NismoDHS@yahoo.com…. If text/DM, etc., just email me and let me know which way works good for you and what all questions you have.
For everyone that doesn’t know how to read a dyno chart, The second dyno reads 368whp and 406 wheel torque.
Bro it literally says torque 368 and hp 406.
I see some people are color blind. Red is hp, blue is torque. 406 is red, 368 is blue. I know it’s difficult lol
thanks
Did you feed your car Taco Bell
Did the howling sound appear at slower speeds? I'm hearing a howling sound on my 2009 335i from the rear and I only hear it starting from around 70-75 mph.
If I recall correctly, I think I only heard it in the cabin around 50+ mph.
@@NismoDHS mine turned out to be a bad passenger rear wheel bearing
Hi, I did the test and get the same result like you. Also, I have a brand new oem temp sensor installed but the cluster still doesnt work. Do you have any tips that i should check next?
If you got the same results as in the test within this video, then your gauge in the cluster is working. I’m assuming that when you say that you installed a new OEM temp sensor, that you replaced the sensor on the driver’s side that you tested like within the video, correct?… and not the temp sensor closer towards the passenger side that goes to the ECU.
That's very strange. Every single N54 335i car that I've known that has had a tune done to it Up until they start to get into the high 400hp range has ALWAYS had much higher torque numbers over HP. EG My last 2008 335i that had a straight tune with only an oil cooler and a K&N filter in the stock intake unit. Dynoed at 389 HP and 412 TQ. And that's always how I saw them at any time I met up with anyone or even saw the numbers on YT. Higher TQ than HP. So I guess they did some different type of tune on this one or something.
You ran a 400hp tune on the stock chargepipe? Wtf why
I see the second dyno you had at brewer. Do you live in Columbus ?
Yep, I’m in the Columbus, GA area.
Where this dyno?
It’s mobile.
100 hp from bolt on's and tune?
n54’s are insane
I’m on just a simple tune now with intakes making 320whp
I mean it’s already twin turbo not too hard to believe tbh
Get upgraded hybrid turbos , they're not that expensive , I have very similar bolt ons but with the hybrid turbos I'm pushing 500 whp on pump 94 octane gas , I also have an MHD backened custom tune done by Twisted Tuning .
How much it cost you?
Personally I want a 335i soon and I just wanna mod it to a respectable 450-520hp
@@hippotesttokill750 that’s pretty fast reliable is 450 max
@@G2gleeno it isn’t , stock tranny slips at 650 whp engine goes over 650-700 whp
what is the sensor to the left of the temp sensor :)?
The one in the video sends a signal to the gauge cluster… The one to the left that you were referencing is also a temp sensor that sends a signal to the ECU.
So I removed the connector and connected the paper clip but mine is still reading zero, that means that my connector is bad right? Or could it be the gauges?
If you tested just like in the video and your gauge is still reading zero, then yes, your gauge is bad IF you ALSO confirm that you have continuity from the gauge to the wire harness.
@@NismoDHS thanks for replying and the video! I’ll have to check that out and see if there is, I’m hoping it’s just the gauges. I really appreciate it!
Is this on e85 and if so what mix? Or just 91 octane?
No, it’s not on E85.... just 93 octane gasoline.
@@NismoDHS thanks for the reply 💪🏽 you have the ungraded lpfp you should run e40/50 push much more HP. Did the upgraded inlets help with increasing HP?
@@jojostayfunny7908 - np...and yes, I installed the Euro Tuning Group Stage 2 LPFP. I don't know how much the upgraded inlets helped or not since I've only dyno'd it stock and then after I did everything.
Is there a trick to get the orientation right ? When I reinstalled replacement it didn’t allow me to reconnect connector the same way.
No trick really...your previous sensor may have just been a little more loose or a little tighter than your new one is. You can loosen (or tighten if possible) the sensor a bit to get the orientation how you need it as long as it still installed good enough not to leak/lose pressure. (maybe adding a little bit of thread seal tape might help if needed)
@@NismoDHS Ok thanks for the info!
what size line did you use?
It's been a while, but I think it was 6mm or 8mm silicone hose.
You should do dyno on a E30 mix E85 makes a big difference
260.000 miles on😅
How much did FBO cost? 406whp very impressive.
With doing all the work myself, I would estimate around $3,000 to $3,500.
You can do it easily for under 2k
@@IN54ANE oh hell yeah I seen someone do a full stage 2 for $1800 all parts from eBay tho.

So whatd you do now the lines gone?
Nothing. I just vent to atmosphere. But I have also capped off all other holes. (2 on the intake pipes... the 2 ports on the upper intake plenum...and the 2 on the LH side exhaust valve cover.)
@@NismoDHS care to post a video?
@@Ajhowardz32 - I don’t have a video... but here’s a really good link: conceptzperformance.com/wiki/index.php/PCV_Reroute
@@NismoDHS so I'm tapping a barb fitting at the valve cover and rerouting or running a hose from each valve cover to their own the pcv valve ( capping the old ports on the back driver side on a tt engine ). Those front hard lines you hammered off on the video need to be capped of what happends to those? Or is this video only applies for N/A?
@@josedeleon9639 I personally just always let the intake valve covers vent to open air.... while of course tapping & plugging the 2 holes on the LH side exhaust valve cover along with the 2 ports on the upper intake plenum where the PCV valves used to be.
What a sending unit? I'm having oil problems
It’s the part that reads your oil pressure and sends the reading to your oil pressure gauge.
damn homie youre a legend!
Now I can make left and right turns and theres no noise change. But I hear that noise in ny cabin just yelling at me!! Do you have the same problem???
Nice
How's the install? Nothing added just hammer it in
I leave them out and delete all PCV related stuff. But yeah, you could press them back in if you wanted.
Thank you, brother.
thank u bro I was wondering if mine was reading properly, its kind of low .good info
What do I do with that open line that is next to the two lines you connected to eachother
Sounds like you may be referencing the PCV hard line.
Fuck yeah bro gotta do this today so perfect timing.
can you use same test for the oil pressure gauge?
